Job Full Description
We are seeking a skilled Machine Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely operating equipment with safety interlocks in place, providing feedback to the plating department, and maintaining quality standards. Additional duties include performing preventative maintenance, minimizing scrap, and working with the maintenance team to reduce downtime.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely operate equipment with all safety interlocks functioning.
- Provide feedback on substandard coil stock to minimize scrap and production loss.
- Pass all quality audits and ensure proper completion of quality paperwork.
- Meet production rates while maintaining quality and safety standards.
- Perform daily preventative maintenance and machine changeovers using SMED techniques.
- Collaborate with maintenance to reduce mechanical downtime.
- Minimize reject rates and scrap from the machine.
- Comply with the company’s quality system and safety regulations.
- Participate in continuous improvement activities.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
- Perform additional duties as assigned, including overtime when necessary.
Requirements:
- 1+ year experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Forklift certification or ability to complete forklift training.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic skills in reading, writing, and math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
- Ability to read blueprints and use measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, copper thickness gauge).
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs and handle steel coil material.
- Strong communication skills.
