Director of Food/Beverage
Overview:
The Director of Food/Beverage is responsible for planning, designing, implementing, and managing all Food and Beverage operations to ensure profitability, efficiency, and adherence to standards. This role involves establishing quality, presentation, handling, sanitation, and safety standards in alignment with property regulations. The Director will also develop and implement policies, participate in budget preparation, and collaborate with the Executive Chef on menu planning and pricing.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee and manage Food and Beverage operations.

Establish and maintain quality, presentation, and safety standards.

Develop and implement policies and procedures.

Prepare annual budgets and financial plans.

Maintain budgeted supply and labor costs.
-
Collaborate with the Executive Chef on menu planning.

Ensure security and maintenance of supplies and equipment.
-
Communicate updates and changes with staff.
-
Conduct inspections to ensure compliance with standards.
-
Report unsafe conditions and maintain equipment.
-
Participate in Manager on Duty program as needed.

Provide client, guest, and team member support.

Supervise, train, and develop staff.
-
Conduct performance assessments and training.
-
Perform duties of supervised positions as required.
Experience and Qualifications:
-
Extensive experience leading food and beverage teams, including back-of-house and culinary/kitchen teams.

A degree in a related field with significant experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Strong knowledge of fine dining and beverage service procedures.

Knowledge of applicable liquor laws and regulations.

Proficiency in using equipment utilized by the Food and Beverage team.

Required food handling and other permits, licenses, or certifications.

Ability to read, write, and understand English.

Strong communication skills, including report writing, business correspondence, and presentations.

Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from team members, managers, clients, guests, or the public.
