Job Full Description

Electrical Technician

  • Assembling, evaluating, testing, and maintaining electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, and apparatus.
  • Troubleshooting and repairing malfunctioning equipment, appliances, and apparatus.
  • Constructing and fabricating parts, using hand tools and specifications.
  • Reading and interpreting electrical and electronic circuit blueprints, diagrams, and schematics.
  • Advising management on continued use of unsuitable equipment, appliances, and apparatus.
  • Supervising electricians.
  • Ordering of electrical supplies and equipment.
  • 2-year electrical, technical, or related degree.
  • Completion of an electrical apprenticeship.
  • At least 2 years' experience as an electrical technician.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Experience operating hand and power tools, soldering and fault-testing equipment.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Conduct electrical testing and diagnostics on coaches to identify and resolve issues promptly.
  • Install, repair, and maintain electrical systems and components, including wiring, circuit boards, and electrical devices.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations regarding electrical systems and safety.
  • Collaborate with other technicians and team members to troubleshoot and resolve complex electrical problems.
  • Inspect and test electrical systems using specialized equipment.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of new electrical systems and technologies.
  • Keep accurate records of repairs, maintenance, and other electrical-related activities.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:

  • High school diploma or equivalent, with technical training in electrical systems preferred.
  • Proven experience as an Electrical Technician in the automotive or related industry considered an asset.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, wiring diagrams, and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Familiarity with automotive electrical components and systems.
  • Proficient in using diagnostic equipment and software.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
