Job Full Description
Our client in south Akron, OH is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Saw Operator to join their manufacturing and fabrication team. The primary responsibility of this position is to understand work order blueprints and design requirements in order to select the appropriate material, setup the saws, and cut the material per print. Parts/pieces produced feed the machine shop and weld shop with material ready for the next stage of production. Days and hours of work are typically Monday through Friday on first shift. Additional overtime may be available Monday through Friday and on weekends as needed.

Position Details:
Pay is $16.00 ($640 paid weekly) Higher pay rates possible depending on experience.
Hours: Mon-Fri, 6:00am - 4:30pm
Responsibilities may include:
- Read job specifications to determine material requirements and saw adjustments
- Position guides, stops, holding blocks, or other fixtures as indicated by scale, rule or template to secure and direct the workpiece using hand tools and measuring devices
- Observe machine operation to detect workpiece defects or machine malfunction
- Measure workpiece dimensions to determine accuracy of cut part to print
- Maintain the saws, including, but not limited to, replacing blades on the various saws using hand tools, monitoring coolant/oil levels and adding/replacing as needed, and general cleaning
- Load/unload steel trucks, checking delivered material for order accuracy and completeness
Desired Skills/Experience:
- Read and interpret blueprints.
- Use and read tape measures and calipers.
- Experience operating automated and semi-automated band saws and non-ferrous saws preferred
- Experience operating, or an ability and willingness to quickly learn to operate, an overhead crane is required.
- Forklift experience is a PLUS.
