Express Employment Professionals is seeking a detail-oriented and innovative Automation Engineer to join our team. This role involves leading and coordinating the design, modification, and implementation of automated systems, ensuring operational excellence, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. The ideal candidate will possess technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to safety, quality, and collaboration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process Equipment Design & Installation:
- Lead and coordinate the design, modification, adaptation, and installation of process equipment in facilities.
- Technical Assistance & Maintenance Support:
- Provide technical assistance and serve as a liaison for issues related to equipment maintenance, operation, and facilities.
- Address and resolve technical problems impacting product quality and production processes.
- Health, Safety & Environmental Compliance:
- Develop, support, and implement strategies for health, safety, and environmental concerns related to automation systems, ensuring regulatory compliance.
- Training & Development:
- Provide technical assistance and interface with work teams, including the development and delivery of skills-based training programs.
- Vendor & Contractor Coordination:
- Collaborate with contractors, equipment vendors, and supply vendors for assigned projects, ensuring effective resource management.
- Standards & Procedures Development:
- Contribute to the creation and enforcement of standards and procedures for production, technical, safety, and environmental activities.
- Continuous Improvement Leadership:
- Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives, fostering a culture of ongoing enhancement.
- Utilize continuous improvement problem-solving processes to identify and resolve issues, reduce variation, and improve system reliability.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work effectively with other personnel and teams, building strong customer/supplier relationships, and promoting teamwork and cooperation.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Automation Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience in automation, process design, or systems engineering.
- Strong technical knowledge of automated systems, equipment, and production processes.
- Familiarity with health, safety, and environmental regulations, including automation system compliance.
- Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a focus on collaboration and customer service.
- Experience in continuous improvement methodologies and tools.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
- Proficiency with relevant software and systems used in automation and process design
