Machine Parts Sales Representative (Inside) | Amelia, OH

1st Shift | $17-19/hr BOE 

 

Overview:

The Parts Sales Representative is a critical role in developing and maintaining client relationships, and will join a seasoned, customer-driven with expertise in the machining and manufacturing industry. The Parts Sales Representative is an Inside Sales role, designed for a candidate with technical background and customer service mentality. By applying product and industry knowledge, the Parts Sales Representative will pursue new and existing client relationships by providing the comprehensive and effective solutions to parts and service needs. Customer needs are often custom; the ideal Sales Representative will have strong analytical skills and a creative, collaborative approach to understanding and addressing each customer’s unique need(s). Experience in the machine tool industry is preferred.


Core Responsibilities:

• Learn, understand, and apply product and service lines, specifically parts and components and their respective capabilities.
• Conduct sales-based activity including lead generation & follow up, prospecting, and appointment setting as needed.
• Consistently meet routine sales metrics.
• Respond to inbound customer inquiries via telephone, e-mail, and website forms.
• Prepare quotes and proposals, with active follow up to negotiate and close sales.
• Communicate with vendors and suppliers (request pricing, convey technical specifications, etc.)
• Manage and work to develop existing customer relationships through introduction of new products or services.
• Provide pre- and post-sales technical assistance and advice.
• Complete client satisfaction steps, such as post-sale communication to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Troubleshoot customer concerns with urgency, provide and coordinate technical support as needed.
• Maintain active and current knowledge of current parts inventory or projected timeline of ordering process.
• Occasional travel to customers or suppliers (may be required for sales purposes, training, etc.)
• Special projects and additional duties as required.

 

Skills:
• Strong mechanical/technical aptitude and understanding of general machine parts
• Ability to read blueprints strongly preferred
• E2 Shoptech software familiarity highly preferred (or ability to quickly learn/apply)
• Demonstrated customer service skills, and ability to communicate clearly in written, verbal, and face to face settings
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Working computer proficiency, including internet navigation/research, file download/recall, and electronic communication
• Ability to work independently to complete tasks in a timely matter
• Ability to communicate with customer contacts in diverse roles (engineering, maintenance, purchasing, etc.)
• Consistently excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to learn and apply new information quickly and thoroughly
• Ability to convey product features and benefits
• Effective time management and work ethic


Qualifications:
• High school degree or equivalent required. Additional Associates’ or Bachelors’ degree preferred
• Previous experience in a manufacturing or machine industry environment
• Ability to read blueprints strongly preferred
• Demonstrated experience and ability to excel in customer service/sales
• Experience interacting with manufacturing customers and knowledge of production processes
• Familiarity with general office procedures, practices, and equipment
• Prior experience in a parts sales and service role, requiring mechanical and/or technical product knowledge
• Knowledge of or ability and willingness to learn and explore metalworking machinery, tooling and products through industry journals, trade shows, training and self-study
• Ability to work productively in a small ONSITE office environment, both independently and collaboratively.
**This is NOT a remote or hybrid role.

Shift: Mon-Fri, 8am-4:30pm

Pay: $17-19/hour, based on experience, with additional bonus incentives.
