Job Title: Vice President – Alloy Products

Location: Detriot, MI or Los Lunas, NM

Division: Alloy Products (Americas & Asia Markets)

Compensation: $190-205K + 30% Profit Sharing 

Position Summary:
We are seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Vice President to lead our Alloy Products division, responsible for managing operations, sales, and growth in the Americas and Asia. This role requires a strategic leader who can drive operational excellence, develop new markets, and foster a culture of high performance while ensuring customer satisfaction and safety compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership & Strategy:

    • Lead by the company’s Vision & Values, executing sales and operational strategies to achieve business growth, operational excellence, and a performance-driven culture.
    • Develop and implement strategies for market expansion, product innovation, and operational improvements.
    • Serve on the senior management team, contributing to strategic decision-making and driving process improvement initiatives.
  • Operations Management:

    • Oversee daily operations to ensure product delivery, quality, and cost-effectiveness, exceeding customer expectations.
    • Remove waste and constraints to improve production efficiency and enhance overall productivity.
    • Ensure all site operations comply with federal, state, and local safety regulations, fostering a strong safety culture.
  • Financial & Business Planning:

    • Own the P&L for the division and manage the annual budget to support business planning, manufacturing schedules, and capital expenditures.
    • Publish monthly business reports and provide insights based on Safety, Cost, Quality, Delivery, and People (SCQDP) metrics.
  • Team Development:

    • Recruit, train, and mentor staff to develop a high-performing team that meets and exceeds business goals.
    • Set clear performance expectations and implement production management systems with measurable KPIs.

Qualifications:

  • Experience & Expertise:

    • Proven track record of P&L responsibility with a minimum of 10 years in leadership roles within metals or related manufacturing industries (preferably operations/engineering).
    • Deep understanding of the metals foundry industry is highly preferred.
    • Comprehensive knowledge of sales, marketing, engineering, purchasing, financial planning, and operations.
  • Education:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field is required; MBA is strongly preferred.
    • Lean/Six Sigma training is required, with a minimum of a Green Belt and a proven track record of driving operational improvements.
  • Skills & Characteristics:

    • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to lead a business unit as its “owner.”
    • Strong decision-making skills in a fast-paced environment and ability to handle ambiguity and risk.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of negotiating, resolving conflicts, and building customer relationships.
    • Hands-on leadership style with a presence on the shop floor and strong emotional intelligence.
    • Ability to motivate and develop staff, fostering a collaborative and goal-oriented culture.
    • Willingness to travel up to 30%, depending on primary work location.
