Experienced Car Mechanic
Position: Car Mechanic
Location: Columbus, Ohio
Employment Type: Full-time
Pay: Based on experience
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on a variety of vehicle makes and models, including domestic and foreign cars.
- Conduct routine services, including oil changes, tire rotations, brake inspections, and fluid replacements.
- Troubleshoot and identify mechanical and electrical issues using diagnostic tools and techniques.
- Repair or replace defective parts, components, or systems, such as engines, transmissions, brakes, and HVAC systems.
- Conduct thorough vehicle inspections to ensure all systems are functioning correctly and meet safety standards.
- Test drive vehicles to identify issues and confirm proper repairs.
- Provide exceptional customer service by explaining technical issues and repair processes to clients in an easy-to-understand manner.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment by adhering to shop safety standards and procedures.
- Keep up-to-date with the latest automotive technologies, repair techniques, and tools.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on experience as an automotive mechanic or technician.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of automotive systems, including engines, transmissions, brakes, electrical systems, and diagnostics.
- Certifications (Preferred): ASE certification or equivalent is highly desirable.
- Tools: Must have your own set of professional-grade tools (specialty tools provided by the shop).
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs), stand for extended periods, and work in various physical positions.
- Communication Skills: Ability to clearly explain repairs and issues to customers and team members.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities.
- Attention to Detail: Commitment to accuracy and precision in all repairs and services.
- Driver's License: Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
