Licensed Dependency Counselor - $55,000 per year and up BOE
Mon - Fri 8:00 am - 5:00 pm Columbus, OH
Job Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Licensed Dependency Counselor to join our team in providing professional counseling services to individuals struggling with substance use disorders and addiction-related issues. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of dependency treatment, and a commitment to helping individuals achieve lasting recovery through personalized counseling and support. As a Licensed Dependency Counselor, you will work closely with clients to develop individualized treatment plans, provide therapy sessions, and assist in the implementation of recovery goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments and intake interviews to evaluate clients' mental health, substance use, and personal history.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with clients, ensuring they align with their needs, goals, and circumstances.
- Provide individual, group, and family counseling sessions to clients dealing with substance abuse, mental health, and dependency issues.
- Educate clients about addiction, recovery, coping strategies, and relapse prevention techniques.
- Monitor and document client progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to achieve optimal outcomes.
- Facilitate referrals to community resources, including medical, psychiatric, housing, and social services, as needed.
- Maintain a safe, supportive, and confidential therapeutic environment for all clients.
- Stay current on best practices, research, and treatment modalities related to substance use and dependency.
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date case notes, treatment records, and progress reports in compliance with legal, ethical, and organizational standards.
- Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams, including physicians, social workers, and other mental health professionals, to support client care.
- Provide crisis intervention and support when necessary, ensuring clients' safety and well-being.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field.
- Valid, active state licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC) or equivalent.

- Certification in addiction counseling or a related field.
- Familiarity with evidence-based practices for addiction treatment, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), or Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).
