Job Full Description

 
    • Setting up and operating equipment
      This includes installing blades, setting equipment controls, and mounting attachments 
       
       
    • Measuring and cutting
      Saw operators measure materials and workpieces to ensure they meet specifications, and cut materials to shape or sever them 
       
       
    • Maintaining equipment
      Saw operators check and replace worn parts, sharpen tools, and lubricate machines 
       
       
  • Ensuring quality
    Saw operators inspect finished workpieces for defects and ensure they meet quality specifications 
     
     
  • Maintaining safety
    Saw operators ensure the work area is clean, safe, and organized, and that the equipment is safe to operate 
     
     
  • Other duties
    Saw operators may also trim excess material, clear jams, and sort and stack finished products 
     
    Skills and Qualifications:
 
  • Experience with manual and automatic saws
  • Familiarity with general machinery
  • Good physical stamina
  • Ability to read technical drawings
  • Knowledge of safety procedures
  • Basic math skills
  • Ability to lift up to 50–70 lbs
