Job Overview: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Diesel Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel-powered equipment and vehicles with precision and expertise.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive diagnostic evaluations of diesel engines, identifying mechanical and electrical issues using advanced diagnostic equipment
  • Perform complex repairs and maintenance on diesel engines for various types of equipment, including heavy machinery, trucks, and industrial vehicles
  • Disassemble and reassemble engine components, replacing worn or damaged parts with high-quality replacements
  • Conduct thorough inspections of engine systems, including fuel, electrical, cooling, and exhaust systems
  • Maintain detailed and accurate repair and maintenance records
  • Perform preventative maintenance to ensure optimal equipment performance and longevity
  • Use specialized tools and diagnostic equipment with precision and care
  • Troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical problems
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and manufacturer specifications
  • Communicate effectively with team members and management about equipment status and repair needs

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent technical certification
  • Completed diesel mechanics certification or vocational training program
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of professional diesel mechanic experience
  • Proven expertise in diesel engine repair and maintenance
  • Strong understanding of diesel engine systems and components
  • Proficiency with diagnostic tools and computerized testing equipment
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and diagnostic charts
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent manual dexterity and physical stamina
  • Valid driver's license

Required Technical Skills:

  • Advanced knowledge of diesel engine systems
  • Expertise in hydraulic and pneumatic systems
  • Proficiency with welding and fabrication techniques
  • Understanding of electrical systems and computer-controlled components
  • Ability to interpret technical diagrams and schematics

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Standing, bending, and moving around work site for extended periods
  • Working in various environmental conditions
  • Using hand and power tools
  • Climbing and working in confined spaces

Preferred Additional Certifications:

  • ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) Certification
  • manufacturer-specific diesel engine certifications
  • Advanced diagnostic equipment certifications
