Forklift Operator - Special Project
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Forklift Operator to join our team for a special project assisting with our warehouse relocation. This temporary position will play a crucial role in ensuring a smooth transition to our new facility while maintaining operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate forklifts to load, unload, and transfer materials between the existing and new warehouse locations
- Assist with organizing and arranging inventory in the new warehouse layout
- Follow proper material handling procedures for various product types
- Maintain accurate records of items moved and their new locations
- Identify and report any safety hazards or equipment malfunctions
- Collaborate with the warehouse relocation team to meet project deadlines
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company protocols
Qualifications
- Valid forklift certification/license
- Minimum 2 year of experience operating Sit-down forklifts in a warehouse environment
- Knowledge of warehouse safety procedures and OSHA regulations
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Effective communication abilities
- Flexibility to work varying shifts as needed during the relocation process
