Job Full Description
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Data Center Technician to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining and supporting the infrastructure of our data center, ensuring optimal performance and reliability. This role requires a strong understanding of computer networking, hardware, and various tools used in the industry. The Data Center Technician will play a crucial role in the installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of network equipment and systems.
Full Time: Monday to Friday
Pay rate: $19.00 to $32.00 per hour
Willing to train!
Must be willing to travel to Columbus OH for training, all expenses paid.
Duties
- Install, configure, and maintain data center equipment including servers, routers, and switches.
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance on hardware to ensure optimal performance.
- Utilize hand tools and power tools for equipment installation and repairs.
- Conduct network installations and assist with troubleshooting network issues.
- Monitor CCTV systems to ensure security protocols are followed within the data center.
- Use an ohmmeter to test electrical connections and troubleshoot any electrical issues.
- Collaborate with IT teams to support computer networking tasks and resolve technical problems.
- Document all maintenance activities, repairs, and installations accurately.
Requirements
- Proven experience working in a data center or similar environment.
- Strong knowledge of computer hardware components and their functionalities.
- Familiarity with Cisco routers and other networking equipment is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
- Understanding of CCTV systems for security monitoring purposes.
- Basic knowledge of network installation processes and computer networking principles.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members.
