Job Full Description
The Shipping Specialist is responsible for insuring customer satisfaction through direct customer contact and by insuring that the Core Values, Corporate Philosophy and Mission of our company is both communicated to and incorporated into the daily practices of RPS employees.
The Shipping Specialist hours can change at any time due to business demands. The Shipping Specialist must be able to work at any time in case of emergency as our Service is a 24/7 operation. The Shipping Specialist will frequently work an extended work week. Daily duties include but may not be limited to the following:
Job Description
- Inform customers/representatives of all available services
- Answer Phone within two rings
- Identify the purpose of the call and insure that it is handled or properly assigned correctly
- Solve difficult situations to ensure that customers are cared for
- Accurately document case notes in computer
- Prepare and Proofread legal documents
- Determine pricing and communicate to customer
- Negotiate pricing with vendors
- Read, address and distribute faxes and emails promptly
- Communicate with the airlines and book flights for human remains
- Track status of certified copies of death certificates and communicate to customers/vendors
- Make follow up customer service calls
- Provide Impeccable customer service
- Handle problem calls/situations
- Assign files to the next shift
- Update all shifts on calls that need attention
- Make sure filing, cleaning and trash are handled
- Make sure all remains are identified and tagged correctly
- Greet local visitors
- Take in human remains for cremation or preparation
- Take in Pet remains for cremation and assist pet families in bereavement process
- Release human and pet cremains
- Assist in growth of business opportunities
- If indicated as a lead person, assign files and determine early dismissal or overtime
- Be a team player
- Other duties as assigned
Needed Qualifications/Abilities
- High School Graduate/GED
- Two to three years customer service experience
- Excellent Attendance
- Professional phone etiquette
- Ability to work overtime
- Ability to multi-task
- Ability to make quick decisions
- Ability to handle stressful situations tactfully
- Good listening skills
- Computer literate
- Be a problem solver
- Be an “idea” person
Able to handle employee conflicts
Able to foster teamwork
