Temporary Office Assistant
Building Application and Permitting Office
3-6 month project
We are seeking a detail-oriented Temporary Office Assistant to support the Building Application and Permitting Department for a 3-6 month assignment.
$18.50 to $20.00/hour DOE
Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week
Responsibilities:
- Answer incoming phone calls and assist walk-in customers
- Process building permit and application paperwork
- Input and manage digital records in Google Docs and MS Office systems
- Maintain accurate filing and documentation systems
- Schedule appointments and coordinate communication between applicants and staff
- Support department administrative functions
Requirements:
- Excellent customer service skills
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Experience with Google Docs
- Strong organizational and administrative abilities
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced municipal office environment
- High school diploma or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous municipal or government office experience
- Basic understanding of building permit processes
