Express Employment is looking for a Quality Inspector for our Valued Client in Vienna, OH
Shift: Day 6:00a-4:30 M-F
Pay: $40,000-$60,000 per yr Based On Experience
Summary:
The Job Holder (JH) assumes the position of Quality Assurance Inspector. The JH provides support and guidance towards the achievement of maximum process and quality assurance on the shop floor supporting Manufacturing and Machining areas in daily quality tasks. As well as supporting internal/external audit processes.
Primary Duties:
The following duties are not all inclusive but describe the main duties for the JH:
- Inspect and approve product at various stages of manufacturing to ensure conformance with job orders and diagrammatic specifications
- Perform first article, in-process and final inspection
- Measure reference points to verify assembly layout and machine setup, product conformance using templates, squares, straightedge, tape, precision measurement tools, etc.
- Inspect product for visual appearance and conformance
- Identify parts for acceptance or rejection, completes or verifies completion of respective paperwork
- Document and report inspection results
- Monitor application of customer specs or internal defined processes necessary to fulfill CTQ’s from customers
- Monitor correct application of all internal inspection documents
- Monitor document control with respect to production drawings and customer specs
- Monitor quality system for conformance on the shop floor
- Identify and/or assist in the Investigation and root cause of NCR’s
- Support and enforce the application of the SMI Quality System as outlined in the QSM, WI’s, QMP’s and SOP’s on the manufacturing floor
- Support and participate in internal auditing of processes and practices
- Assist and execute in-house training as required
Required knowledge, education & skills:
- Education: High school diploma or GED preferred
- Knowledge of operating principles and techniques of manufacturing/welding/machining processes
- Read/interpret fabrication/machining drawings and specifications requirements
- Inspect fabrications/machining to reference drawing
- Ability to inspect welds to ASME and AWS code
- Skill in both verbal and written communications
- Skill in procedural/technical writing techniques
- Proficient in basic computer applications
- Proficient in reading and interpreting customer drawings/specifications requirements
- Ability to communicate professionally with personnel outside the organization
- Outstanding decision making ability
- Self-motivator, able to work unsupervised
- General knowledge of ISO9001 quality systems
