A garage door supplier in Austintown is looking for an experienced Installation Technician to join their team.
Job Summary: Install and repair garage doors for residential and commercial customers. You will be tasked with ensuring the proper functioning and safety of garage door systems, providing excellent customer service, and adhering to industry standards and safety protocol.
Responsibilities:
- Install a variety of garage door systems, including sectional, rolling, and overhead doors
- Assemble and install door hardware, tracks, springs, cables, and other components according to specifications
- Conduct thorough inspections of existing garage door systems to identify issues and recommend appropriate solutions
- Test installed doors for proper alignment, balance, and functionality
- Perform repairs on malfunctioning garage doors, addressing issues such as broken springs, damaged panels, and faulty openers
- Provide routine maintenance services to ensure the longevity and optimal performance of garage door systems
- Interact with customers in a professional and courteous manner
- Communicate effectively to explain installation or repair processes, address customer concerns, and provide guidance on proper door usage and maintenance
- Adhere to safety standards and guidelines to ensure a secure working environment
- Utilize personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow safety protocols during installations and repairs
- Maintain accurate records of installations, repairs, and maintenance activities
- Complete service reports and document any recommendations for future repairs or upgrades
- Properly use and maintain tools and equipment required for garage door installations and repairs
- Will meet at the shop in Austintown each morning and travel to each job in a company vehicle
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in garage door installation or a related field is preferred
- Any experience in carpentry or construction is also acceptable
- Knowledge of different types of garage doors, hardware, and operating systems
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Lift up to 50 pounds and able to climb up to 6 feet
Shift: Monday-Friday day turn (specific hours will vary)
Pay Rate: $18/hour
