JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary/Objective
The Machine Process Technician is responsible for production mold changes into injection plastics presses and all fluid and electrical connections required for the mold to run effectively.  In addition, the Process Tech will trouble shoot and make repairs and adjustments throughout the shift to ensure that production runs are completed in a timely manner.

Essential Functions

  1. Communicate directly and clearly with your team and shift supervisor to ensure effective transition from shift to shift.
  2. Follow all safety regulations and use appropriate PPE as required.
  3. Ensure safe operation of running presses.
  4. Troubleshoot and repair/adjust running presses.
  5. Overhead gantry style crane operation via remote control.
  6. Remove and reinstall mold assemblies as required according to schedule.
  7. Route and connect required coolant and electrical connections.
  8. Program control units to specifications to run production.
  9. Verify and certify proper operation of presses and molds installed by other team members.
  10. Clean up debris and any spillage from mold changes to allow for machine start-up.
  11. Perform machine maintenance as required.

Competencies:

1.    Communication skills: verbal, written and electronic.

2.    General mechanical knowledge (Machine service knowledge a plus)

  1. Problem Solving/Analysis.
  2. Time Management

Work Environment:
The performance of this position may often require exposure to the manufacturing areas that require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses with side shields and mandatory hearing protection. Close inspection of processes and equipment, while in operation, may present considerable hazard.  This position is classified as “Safety Sensitive” under Oklahoma Employment Law.

Physical Demands:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.  Lifting over 50 lbs and operating torque wrenches and various tools is routine to this position.  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand, climb, walk, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms. 

Travel:
No travel is expected for this position.

Education and Experience:

  1. High School diploma.  Applicable Technical or Trade School preferred.
  2. Mechanical maintenance or repair experience.

Work Authorization/Security Clearance:

Must be legally eligible to work in the United States of America.
