Office Manager/Medical Billing Specialist $20.00

Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Medical Biller to join our team on a part-time basis. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience in medical billing, with a strong understanding of insurance processes, CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS codes. This role requires accuracy, confidentiality, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately prepare and submit insurance claims for various medical services, ensuring all coding is correct (CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS).
  • Review patient records and charge entries to ensure proper documentation is in place before billing.
  • Follow up on outstanding claims and payments, resolving any issues with insurance companies or patients as needed.
  • Communicate with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and patients to address billing inquiries or discrepancies.
  • Post payments from insurance carriers and patients, ensuring all accounts are updated accurately.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines in all aspects of billing and communication.
  • Assist with generating and reviewing reports related to billing activities, payment trends, and outstanding balances.
  • Work collaboratively with the billing team to ensure timely and accurate processing of claims.
  • Assist with other administrative tasks as needed to support the billing department.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical billing, including familiarity with insurance procedures and claims management.
  • Strong understanding of medical terminology, coding (CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS), and healthcare insurance processes.
  • Knowledge of billing software and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and confidentiality standards.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in medical billing or coding (such as CPC, CBCS) is a plus.

Work Environment & Schedule:

  • This is a part-time position, with a flexible schedule (20 hours per week).
  • The position is office-based or remote depending on company policies.
