As our business continues to grow, we are seeking a highly experienced Full Charge Bookkeeper to join our team and manage our financial operations.
Position Overview:
We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Full Charge Bookkeeper with at least 10 years of experience in bookkeeping and accounting. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day financial operations of the dealership, ensuring accurate record-keeping, compliance with industry standards, and providing financial reports to management. This position requires a deep understanding of dealership financials, including inventory management, accounts payable/receivable, and monthly/yearly reconciliations.
Key Responsibilities:
- General Accounting: Manage and maintain the dealership’s full accounting cycle, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and monthly bank reconciliations.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, balance sheets, and profit & loss statements to management.
- Inventory Management: Work closely with the sales team to ensure accurate recording of inventory purchases, sales, and adjustments. Perform regular inventory reconciliation.
- Tax Compliance: Ensure accurate and timely filing of all sales, use, and payroll taxes, and assist in year-end tax preparation.
- Cash Flow Management: Monitor cash flow and assist in forecasting future financial needs, ensuring funds are available for dealership operations and growth.
- Internal Controls: Implement and maintain robust internal control procedures to safeguard assets, prevent fraud, and ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
- Financial Audits: Assist in external audits by providing necessary documentation and supporting records as needed.
- Vendor Management: Review and process vendor invoices, ensure timely payments, and manage vendor relationships.
- Payroll Processing: Oversee payroll processing, including deductions, benefits, and reporting to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Financial Analysis: Provide actionable insights and analysis of financial data to assist in decision-making and drive dealership profitability.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting, with a strong focus on full charge bookkeeping.
- Previous experience in the powersports, automotive, or retail industries is a plus.
- Proficiency in accounting software (experience with [name specific software if applicable], QuickBooks, or similar platforms).
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and tax regulations.
- Experience with inventory management and reconciliation.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- High level of integrity and professionalism.
- Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly and effectively to non-financial team members.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred, but not required.
