Pre-Commercial Seed Processing Operator – $23.28/hr + Discretionary Bonus
Location: Tangent, OR

Shift: Variable shifts, including rotating shifts as needed
Express Employment Professionals is seeking a Pre-Commercial Seed Processing Operator on behalf of a global leader in seed production. Based at the Tangent, OR production facility, this role is integral to maintaining quality, efficiency, and precision in seed processing operations.
Responsibilities
- Operate seed processing equipment throughout all production stages, including cleaning, sizing, drying, chemical application, and packaging.
- Adhere to strict processing procedures to maintain quality standards, prevent contamination, and ensure accurate labeling.
- Maintain safety and regulatory compliance at all times.
- Utilize forklifts to transport materials and manage inventory.
- Lead and train seasonal processing crews, making critical decisions in the absence of a supervisor.
- Enforce proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Cross-train in various operational areas to support evolving business needs.
- Foster collaborative relationships across departments.
- Comply with company policies, safety regulations, and industry standards.
- Occasionally travel or drive for company-related assignments.
- Maintain consistent and reliable attendance while executing additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required:
- Demonstrated teamwork, communication, and organizational skills.
- Technical proficiency and ability to navigate warehouse management tools, including UPS and FedEx shipping software.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Flexibility to work variable and rotating shifts.
- Ability to obtain forklift certification.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred:
- Experience with seed processing equipment and seed quality management.
- Familiarity with production planning systems (ERP, MES, HMI).
- Advanced computer skills and technical aptitude.
- Leadership experience with training and supervisory responsibilities.
- Knowledge of sampling techniques and industry best practices.
- General mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot and optimize equipment performance.
