Packaging Lead
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Food Packaging Lead to oversee our packaging operations. The ideal candidate will lead a team of packaging associates, ensure efficiency and quality in the packaging process, and maintain compliance with food safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Supervise and coordinate the activities of the packaging team
2. Train new packaging associates and provide ongoing guidance
3. Oversee all aspects of the packaging process, including labeling, weighing, case assembly, and palletizing
4. Ensure adherence to food safety and quality control standards
5. Monitor and optimize production efficiency
6. Manage inventory of packaging materials and coordinate with suppliers
7. Troubleshoot equipment issues and coordinate maintenance
8. Implement and maintain standard operating procedures
9. Collaborate with other departments to improve overall production flow
10. Conduct regular team meetings and performance evaluations
11. Ensure a clean and organized work environment
12. Adapt production schedules to meet changing order demands
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2+ years in a supervisory role
- Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and quality control procedures
- Excellent leadership and team management skills
- Proficiency in production planning and inventory management
- Ability to read and interpret production schedules and technical procedures
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with inventory management software a plus
Physical Demands:
- Ability to lift 25 lbs regularly and 50 lbs intermittently
- Capable of standing and walking for extended periods
- May require bending, stooping, and reaching
Work Environment:
- Food packaging production facility
- Fast-paced, dynamic atmosphere
- May involve exposure to temperature-controlled environments
Compensation:
$20 - $22
