OVERALL JOB PURPOSE
Process accounts payable requests and related business entities in an accurate and timely manner and acts as a resource for internal and external customers. Perform any combination of routine calculating, posting, and verifying duties to obtain primary financial data for use in maintaining accounting records.
MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
- High school graduate or equivalent is required; Associate Arts degree preferred.
- A minimum of three years of accounts payable experience is preferred; preferably with a De-centralized organization.
- Proficiency in problem-solving skills and ability to direct the work of others.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet departmental deadlines.
- Detail-oriented with good organizational skills.
- High level of accuracy
- Excellent verbal/written communication and customer service skills.
- Proficiency in data entry skills; familiarity with word processing and spreadsheet computer programs.
- Ability to recommend and aid the implementation of process improvement
- Ability to work independently and with a team with an emphasis on accuracy and timeliness
- Ability to operate 10-key by touch.
- Ability to work flexible hours, if required.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Monitor day-to-day workflow to keep the Accounts Payable Department on schedule.
- Process and monitor up to 19 Communities' accounts payable activity in an accurate and timely manner.
- Review accounts payable invoices and payments for accuracy, reasonableness, and completeness.
- Distribute payments to vendors via mail, UPS, and EFT.
- Takes mailed payments to the post office. Provides backup support for UPS and mail sorting.
- Research and resolve issues as they occur; keep the Accounts Payable manager apprised of any problems in meeting departmental deadlines and responsibilities.
- Process accounts payable requests for assigned Communities and related business entities.
- Provide A/P customer service to the Communities
- Review Community statements as needed
- Update and post accounts payable activity daily.
- Maintain and process recurring entries for appropriate vendors.
- Request W9s from vendors
- Ensure that appropriate reports are properly processed and distributed as needed.
- Assist in month-end closing
- Ensuring compliance with internal controls, procedures, and policy, and with a US GAAP regime
- Performs other duties as assigned by Supervisor
OTHER JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform all work assigned for the agreed-upon monthly wage accepting no additional payment or non-perishable gifts from residents, vendors, Community management, or others.
- Meet the assigned work requirements of the job. Regular attendance is required.

- Ability to keep all business and operations information confidential.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively (in English), both verbally and in writing with residents and staff.
