Job Full Description
This is a full-time, temporary role (3-6 months duration), and open to a remote worker. Must be willing to work East Coast hours.
What You Get to Do!
The Financial Controller is responsible for overseeing all financial and accounting operations within an organization. This role ensures compliance with financial regulations, manages financial reporting, and supports strategic decision-making through budgeting and forecasting. The Controller plays a key leadership role in maintaining financial stability and optimizing financial performance.
• Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger management.
• Prepare and analyze financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP or other relevant accounting standards.
• Develop and maintain internal financial controls to safeguard company assets and prevent fraud.
• Manage the budgeting and forecasting process to support business strategy and financial planning.
• Ensure compliance with tax regulations, audits, and other financial reporting requirements.
• Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior leadership for strategic decision-making.
• Lead and mentor the accounting team, fostering professional development and operational efficiency.
• Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, and financial institutions as needed.
• Evaluate and implement financial systems, tools, and processes to improve efficiency.
What You Will Bring…
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, or related field
• Proven experience in financial management, preferably in a Controller or senior accounting role.
• Excellent knowledge of accounting principles of US GAAP
• Experience in multi-books reconciliation: Group reporting and local financial statements
• Experience in cash management
• Proficient in financial systems (NetSuite) and MS Excel
• Ability to adapt ways of working to new systems quickly
• Strong analytical, technology, communication and organizational skills
• Highly organized and able to prioritize work and multi-task
Nice to Have:
• Experience in Software Industries
• Experience with Acquisitions
• Knowledge of Power BI datasets
• Working within a global team and understanding the main cultural differences
• Public Accounting experience
