We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounting and HR Support Specialist to join a great local roofing team. This role will primarily be responsible for providing backup support to the accounting department utilizing QuickBooks while also managing essential HR functions, including employee benefits administration and workers’ compensation claims. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting practices, as well as experience in human resources management.
Accounting Support:
- Serve as a backup to the accounting team, handling various accounting functions such as accounts payable and receivable, reconciliations, and data entry.
- Utilize QuickBooks to maintain accurate financial records, generate reports, and assist with month-end closing procedures.
- Help in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, ensuring data integrity and accuracy.
- Assist with audits by providing necessary documentation and answering inquiries related to accounting processes.
Human Resources Responsibilities:
- Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations.
- Manage and report on workers’ compensation claims, maintaining accurate records and liaising with insurance providers.
- Assist in the onboarding process for new hires, including benefits enrollment and training coordination.
- Maintain employee records and HR databases, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with labor laws.
- Collaborate with management on HR-related projects and initiatives, providing insights into employee engagement and retention strategies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of [2-3] years of experience in accounting and HR support, preferably in a small to medium-sized business setting.
- Proficient in QuickBooks and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
