Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Stick Welder/Laborer to join our team in Coquille, Oregon. The ideal candidate will have experience in stick welding and the ability to perform various labor tasks related to metal fabrication, assembly, and construction. This position requires attention to detail, a commitment to safety, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate stick welding equipment to weld and fabricate metal components according to specifications and blueprints.
- Read and interpret welding blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications.
- Perform preparation work for welding, including cutting and grinding metal pieces as needed.
- Inspect completed welds for quality and adherence to industry standards.
- Assist in the setup and assembly of metal structures and components.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety protocols and procedures.
- Collaborate with other laborers and team members to ensure efficient workflow and project completion.
- Perform general labor tasks as needed, such as lifting, carrying, and positioning heavy materials.
- Assist with equipment maintenance and repairs when necessary.
- Identify and report any issues or concerns regarding safety or equipment malfunction.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a stick welder, preferably in a manufacturing or construction environment.
- Knowledge of welding techniques, materials, and safety practices.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Strong physical stamina and ability to perform manual labor.
- Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
Working Conditions:
