Now Hiring: Remote Accounting Position (Direct Hire Opportunity)

We are excited to partner with our client to find the right candidate for this full-time accounting role. This is a remote, direct-hire opportunity, offering a salary of $45,000–$49,000 annually (flexible for the right candidate). We are seeking a professional with nonprofit experience to manage accounts payable and receivable and provide administrative support to the Accounting Manager.

Position Summary: This role focuses on Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) while providing administrative support to the Accounting Manager. The position is remote, allowing you to work from anywhere, and is part of the People & Culture team.

Primary Responsibilities:

Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) (75%):

  • Manage day-to-day financial transactions and posting processes.
  • Process payments and invoices, including researching, coding, and data entry.
  • Reconcile accounts to ensure accuracy.
  • Monitor accounts to ensure timely payments.
  • Process and document invoices and payments with appropriate approvals.
  • Record, balance, and deposit all receipts.
  • Assist in preparing financial reports, analyzing trends, and summarizing data.
  • Follow internal accounting controls to maintain financial security.
  • Resolve discrepancies by investigating documentation and issuing/stopping payments.
  • Provide customer service by responding to inquiries from employees and vendors.

Office & Administrative Support (25%):

  • Support the finance and administration teams.
  • Complete special projects as assigned.
  • Assist with office operations, including phone coverage, vendor interactions, and office organization.
  • Send reminders for timecards and reimbursements.
  • Support annual administrative duties such as open enrollment, performance reviews, and payroll/HR calendar updates.
  • Perform other assigned tasks as needed.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and administrative abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with limited supervision.
  • Commitment to equity and an ability to apply an equity lens to communications.
  • Familiarity with accounting software such as NetSuite (or similar).
  • Proficiency in office tools and willingness to learn new software (e.g., Google Suite).
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong customer service mindset.

Qualifications:

  • 3–5 years of AP and AR experience, ideally in a nonprofit setting.
  • Mission-driven individual with a desire to make a meaningful impact.
  • Self-motivated, organized, and proactive team player.
  • Excellent problem-solving and interpersonal skills.
