Internship Announcement
This is a Part-time Job and On Call As Needed

Audio/Video/Lighting Technician Internship (Live Events)
We are now accepting internship applications in our Pathways in Technology (P-Tech) program. The P-Tech Internships allow people with experience or a passion for working in a theater setting to learn in a working theater environment. Interns will learn the basics of stagecraft, set up, installing, operating, testing, and troubleshooting audio, video, and lighting equipment, resulting in the effective production and presentation of LIVE EVENTS (concerts, galas, corporate meetings, musicals, festivals, etc).

A/V/L Production Interns
You will work under the supervision of the Technical Director of Production and Production Managers/Leads on event preparation, operation, and execution. During this time, your responsibilities will be, but not limited to:

  • Preparation and maintenance of A/V/L equipment.
  • Assist with on-site A/V/L system setup and operation through strike at live events.
  • Assist at events and provide support to show site management.

Education, Experience, and Skills Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1+ years experience in professional AV or live event production preferred or technical training/schooling background
  • Well-rounded technical aptitude to learn operating analog & digital audio mixers, proper speaker setup placement, cable usage/management, signal flow via XLR/SDI/DMX, lighting design and operation, and some video scaling.
  • Ability to regularly push/pull/lift equipment up to 50lbs, sometimes more
  • Ability to work under stressful conditions with a sense of urgency
  • Strong communication, organizational, and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to multitask while working independently and collaboratively
  • Passion for live events!

Compensation: $15.00 per hour
Schedule: Must be flexible and willing to work extended hours, nights, and weekends

  • Event Based
  • Day shifts (varying)
  • Night shifts (varying)
  • Weekends as needed (many events land on Friday and Saturday evenings and some Sunday afternoons)

Additional Information:
The venue is a renovated 1940s movie theater, functioning as a year-round, multi-cultural, multi-disciplinary arts center serving south-central Oregon and northern California. The venue hosts many touring performing artists and local productions. Since its opening in 1989, the theater has hosted Grammy Award winners, world-renowned classical, jazz, and blues musicians, repertory theater tours, opera, drama, comedy, musicals, tribute bands, indie-rock, southern-rock, Christian-rock, and alternative-rock bands, a capella groups, acrobats, dancers, children and family shows, and more.
