Water Jet Operator - Aerospace Manufacturing
Mon-Thu, Days, 5am-3:30pm
$22-$25/hour
Full-Time, Temp to Hire - willing to train someone with similar experience
A leading Manufacturing company is seeking an experienced Machine Operator to join their team. Reporting to the Fabrication Lead, this role involves planning, laying out, and fabricating parts on a Water Jet per engineering specifications. This position requires a detail-oriented professional with expertise in interpreting engineering drawings and operating various fabricating machines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret engineering drawings to determine fabrication sequence and methods
- Set up and operate fabricating machines such as shears, brakes, water-jet, presses, and routers to cut and form materials
- Verify flat pattern and bend line dimensions to ensure accurate part dimensions
- Mark dimensions and reference lines on materials for fabrication purposes
- Ensure material finish and edge preparation meet quality standards
- Adhere to safety practices and personal conduct guidelines as outlined by company policies
Specific Duties:
- Set up machines with correct tooling/programming for precise fabrication
- Verify that completed parts meet specified engineering tolerances
- Accurately track timekeeping and report progress to the Production Supervisor
- Handle company tools with care and maintain a clean, organized workspace
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent experience required; an engineering background is a plus
- Basic computer skills, with familiarity in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel preferred
Work Experience:
- Associate’s degree or technical training with 3-6 years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Knowledge:
- Strong math skills for fabrication
