Job Title: Lead Printing Press Operator
Location: Medford, OR
Salary: $62,000 - $72,000 per year
Job Summary:
Express Employment is recruiting for an experienced Lead Printing Press Operator with expertise in operating traditional 8-up and 4-up sheetfed presses from the Heidelberg line, as well as the Halm Jet envelope press. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience as a lead operator and will be comfortable handling multi-color and specialty inks on various substrates.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate a range of presses including the Heidelberg 72 (20x28 4-color), Halm Jet 2-color, and Heidelberg SORKZ 2-color printing presses.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as changing blankets, inks, and other consumables.
- Adjust press settings to ensure optimal print quality and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
- Monitor press performance and make necessary adjustments to maintain efficiency.
- Conduct quality control checks on all printed materials to ensure consistency and adherence to standards.
- Maintain accurate records of press performance, job runs, and maintenance activities.
- Submit purchase orders for ink, chemistry, and other necessary supplies.
- Adhere to company safety procedures and quality standards.
- Operate and update tasks within the Valley Web Printing online workflow system.
- Direct and train other employees on basic press operations such as mixing ink, filling ink, and cleaning the press, with a focus on the Halm Jet press.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience operating Heidelberg and Halm Jet presses.
- Proven track record as a lead operator with hands-on experience troubleshooting and adjusting presses.
- Strong knowledge of print quality control, ink mixing, and press maintenance.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Familiarity with safety procedures in a print production environment.
