Job Full Description

The Facility Maintenance Support’s primary job function is to perform all entry level support and assistance with all aspects of building maintenance to ensure the safety and efficient function of all Medical facilities. 

Accountabilities Include:

Performs Essential Job Duties  

  • Responds to and performs work order requests.
  • Performs routine landscaping and grounds inspection for litter collection and removal of debris.
  • Assembles furniture and equipment, as assigned.
  • Provides snow and ice removal and applies sand and ice melt.
  • Provides pick up, distribution and/or relocation of freight, furniture, equipment, etc.
  • Provides cleanup for spills, which may include biological and chemical spills.
  • Performs tasks, operates equipment and uses materials in a safe manner, adhering to safety. policies, operator manuals, MSDS, OSHA, and other instructions available.
  • Maintains high level of customer service at all times, while working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Receives and distributes deliveries.
  • Maintains facilities campus.
  • Maintains and organizes the facilities storage units.
  • Performs safety equipment checks.
  • Inspects fire equipment monthly.
  • Inspects exit and safety lights monthly.
  • Assists with housekeeping as needed.
  • Cleans upholstery on chairs as needed.
  • Spot cleans carpets as needed.
  • Assists with general maintenance tasks.
  • Knowledge of general plumbing.
  • Knowledge of general carpentry.
  • Knowledge of electrical repair.
  • Knowledge of minor heating, ventilation and air conditioning.
  • Knowledge of painting tasks.
  • Knowledge of minor roof repair.
  • Completes assigned trainings via learning module system (Relias) by required due date.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Must be able to interact with a variety of individuals at various levels under stressful circumstances while exercising sound judgement, tact, and diplomacy; work productively both independently and in a team setting; communicate with clarity, both verbally and in writing to groups and individuals.

 

Education and/or Experience:

Required:

  • Minimum: High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • One to two years of experience in general maintenance repair experience in construction trades or building maintenance.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Skills to intervene and promote reconciliation, compromise and positive outcomes in difficult interactions.
  • Skilled at using electronic health records as applicable to area of work (EPIC, EagleSoft.)
  • Must have reliable transportation and provide documentation of auto insurance and valid driver’s license.

Preferred:

  • Basic knowledge of adult learning models.

 

Language Skills:

Must have the ability to communicate with clarity, both verbally and in writing; read, analyze, and interpret complex documents, regulations, policies, and procedure manuals; and create professional business documents. Preferred bilingual English/Spanish.

 

Mathematical Skills:

Must have the ability to add; subtract; multiply; use percentages, fractions, decimals; interpret numeric graphs; and apply basic algebra, geometry, and statistics.

 

Reasoning Ability:

Must have the ability to:

  • Understand confidential document security from a legal perspective.
  • Effectively deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.

  • Ergonomic hazards from lifting and repetitive tasks, bloodborne pathogens, potentially infectious materials, and biological hazards.
  • OSHA Category 3: no occupational exposure in routine job that involve exposure to blood, body fluids, tissues, or other potentially infectious materials.
