Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated Patient Financial Services (PFS) Representative to assist with Presumptive Charity accounts in the Billing Department on a temporary, full-time basis for three months. In this role, you will work closely with patients and billing staff to ensure accurate and timely processing of charity accounts, providing exceptional support and maintaining compliance with organizational policies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and process Presumptive Charity accounts in the Billing Department.
- Ensure all accounts meet organizational and regulatory requirements for charity assistance eligibility.
- Collaborate with internal billing staff to resolve account discrepancies and streamline workflows.
- Communicate with patients, as necessary, to gather additional documentation or provide updates regarding account statuses.
- Accurately document and maintain account records in compliance with HIPAA and organizational policies.
- Provide support to the billing team in managing financial assistance cases and maintaining timely account processing.
- Assist with other administrative tasks within the Billing Department as needed.
Qualifications:
- Experience in medical billing, financial services, or charity care screening is highly desirable.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to handle sensitive financial matters tactfully.
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) and billing systems.
- Knowledge of healthcare financial assistance programs is a plus.
