Position Overview:
Our client, a reputable company in Portland, is seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join their team. This is a direct hire opportunity where you will utilize your mechanical expertise to service and maintain diesel-powered vehicles and equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on diesel engines and other mechanical components
- Inspect and troubleshoot vehicles, ensuring optimal performance
- Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes, filter replacements, and brake repairs
- Use diagnostic tools and software to identify issues and make necessary adjustments
- Keep accurate records of repairs and maintenance services
- Collaborate with team members to ensure vehicles are in excellent working condition
Qualifications:
- Prior experience working with diesel engines is highly preferred
- Strong mechanical aptitude with a passion for working on vehicles
- Familiarity with diagnostic equipment and mechanical tools
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics
- A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
- High attention to detail and a commitment to safety practices
- Certification in Diesel Mechanics or related fields is a plus, but not required
