Job Full Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing payroll processes, ensuring accurate and timely payment to employees, and maintaining compliance with applicable regulations. This role requires strong analytical skills and a solid understanding of accounting principles, as well as proficiency in payroll software and HRIS systems.
Full time, $24-$26/HR DOE
4-10 hours days a week. Monday through Thursday, 7am to 5pm
Responsibilities
- Process payroll for all employees accurately and on time, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Perform account reconciliation to verify the accuracy of payroll data and resolve discrepancies.
- Maintain detailed records of payroll transactions, including journal entries and adjustments.
- Conduct data entry tasks related to payroll processing, ensuring accuracy in employee information and pay rates.
- Collaborate with HR to ensure proper handling of employee records within the HRIS system.
- Analyze payroll data to identify trends or issues that may affect payroll processing or employee compensation.
- Assist in the preparation of reports related to payroll expenses and other financial metrics.
- Support audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations regarding payroll processes.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in payroll processing or corporate accounting roles.
- Strong understanding of double entry bookkeeping principles and debits/credits.
- Familiarity with accounting software and HRIS systems is essential.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to analyze complex data sets effectively.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Proficient in account reconciliation processes.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with employees at all levels.
