Job Full Description
Express Employment Professionals is seeking a highly-skilled, IN OFFICE, experienced, and talented professional to write grants to support a local non-profit. The Grant Writer is responsible for all phases of the grant development, evaluation, and compliance, including: research, coordination of grant applications, managing the grant reporting process and successfully closing out grant projects with final budget and reporting. The Grant Writer will actively research and pursue prospective government and non-government funding sources. This position is supervised by the local non-profit’s Development and Community Engagement Director.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the Position: THIS IS NOT A REMOTE POSITION
- Apply robust effort to support the mission of the local non-profit through developing, securing and reporting on grant funding.
- Study and understand the history, structure, objectives, programs and financial need of the local non-profit.
- Research grant opportunities from government and non-government agencies.
- Participate in developing a strategy for pursuing and prioritizing grants.
- Draft, review, finalize and submit grant proposals and supporting documents based on the funding requirements of the organization.
- Continue working with existing, well-established grantors to ensure future funding
- Conduct energetic research to develop a wide range of new grantors to pursue.
- Respond to internal and external queries on drafted and submitted proposals.
- Work with the CEO, Deputy CEO, Community Engagement Team Leader, and Executive Coordinator to schedule site visits of grantors as needed.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with funding providers and other stakeholders.
- Maintain records and submit reports related to grant opportunities. Keep supervisor fully informed of research, grant-making process, and related information.
Qualifications:
Required Education and Experience:
- ABILITY TO WORK IN OFFICE
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Creative Writing, or a related area. Master’s Degree is preferred, or a relevant degree
- At least two years’ grant writing experience, or transferable experience relating to the position
Other Qualifications:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to study and understand programs and funding requirements of Liberty House.
- Strong research skills and knowledge of information sources.
- Ability to handle confidential matters with utmost integrity.
- Working knowledge of computers.
Hours, Compensation and Benefits:
- Monday - Friday.
- $26/hr +
