ob Summary:
The Facilities Maintenance Assistant supports the daily operations and maintenance of the facility. This role involves performing routine maintenance tasks, addressing repair needs, and ensuring a clean, safe, and functional environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. General Maintenance:

    • Perform basic repairs and maintenance tasks, including plumbing, electrical, and carpentry.
    • Inspect and troubleshoot equipment and systems.

  2. Preventative Maintenance:

    • Conduct routine inspections to identify maintenance needs.
    • Follow preventative maintenance schedules to avoid disruptions.

  3. Facilities Operations:

    • Assist in setting up and dismantling equipment for events or meetings.
    • Ensure proper operation of HVAC, lighting, and security systems.

  4. Safety and Compliance:

    • Maintain a clean and safe workspace, adhering to OSHA and company safety standards.
    • Report safety hazards and incidents promptly.

  5. Custodial Support:

    • Assist with cleaning and waste disposal as needed.
    • Restock supplies in shared areas (e.g., restrooms, kitchens).

  6. Collaboration:

    • Work with vendors and contractors for specialized repairs or installations.
    • Provide support to the Facilities Manager and other departments as required.

Qualifications:

  • Education & Experience:

    • High school diploma or equivalent.
    • 1-2 years of experience in facilities maintenance or a similar role preferred.

  • Skills & Abilities:

    • Basic knowledge of maintenance tools and techniques.
    • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
    • Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks.
    • Effective communication and teamwork skills.

  • Certifications (Preferred):

    • HVAC, electrical, or plumbing certifications.
    • Forklift or other equipment operation licenses.

Working Conditions:

  • May involve lifting, climbing, and working in various indoor/outdoor environments.
  • Availability for on-call duties, including weekends and evenings, if necessary.
