Freezer Forklift Operator
Forklift Operator Position Available – Local Salem, Oregon
Are you an experienced forklift operator seeking an exciting opportunity in Salem, Oregon? Join a dynamic team in a local food manufacturing facility, where your skills and commitment to safety are valued.
Position Overview: We are looking for motivated individuals with 2-5 years of forklift experience (minimum 1 year required) to fill a key role in our cold-storage warehouse. If you have experience operating both sit-down and stand-up reach forklifts and thrive in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment, this role may be the perfect fit for you.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate sit-down and stand-up forklift (reach lift) to move products safely and efficiently.
- Perform manual tasks such as hand stacking, repalletizing, and hand-wrapping pallets.
- Lift items up to 40 lbs and work in cold environments, including freezer temperatures as low as -8°F for 20-30 minute intervals.
- Load and unload trailers with pallet weights from 1600 lbs to 4000 lbs.
- Store products in racking systems up to 40 feet high using reach lifts.
- Maintain cleanliness of warehouse and freezer surfaces daily.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1 year of forklift experience; 2-5 years preferred.
- Experience in cold environments is a plus.
- Ability to work effectively in a team, follow directions, and maintain a positive attitude.
- Self-motivated and detail-oriented.
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm
Payrate:
- $18 - $22 / HR depending on experience
Please Note: Candidates must come prepared for cold conditions with their own gear or double-layered clothing.
Proper attire is required for the entire shift.
Must come dressed for conditions with own gear or double layered will suffice. Will be sent home if EE isn't prepared.
