Job Title: Lead Construction Worker - Pool and Spa
Location: Salem, Or
Job Type: Full-Time Monday-Friday
Salary: $20.00
Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced and motivated Lead Construction Worker to oversee and manage pool and spa construction projects from start to finish. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction, excellent leadership skills, and specific experience in pool and spa construction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate all pool and spa construction activities on-site.
- Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction documents specific to pool and spa installations.
- Manage and train construction workers and subcontractors.
- Monitor and enforce safety regulations and protocols.
- Conduct regular site inspections to ensure compliance with building codes and project specifications.
- Communicate effectively with project managers, clients, and other stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate records of project progress, materials used, and labor hours.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any issues or delays that arise during construction.
- Order and manage materials and equipment needed for pool and spa construction.
Tools and Equipment Used:
- Telescopic Pole: For reaching and working on different parts of the pool.
- Cordless Drill: Essential for drilling holes in concrete and installing pool equipment.
- Cordless Grinder: Used for smoothing surfaces and removing stains or encrustations.
- Pressure Washer: For cleaning pool surfaces and removing dirt and debris.
- Chemical Testing Kits: To ensure proper chemical balance in the pool water.
- Concrete Mixers: For preparing and pouring concrete for pool foundations and structures.
- Excavators and Backhoes: For digging and preparing the site for pool installation.
- Tile Cutters: For cutting and fitting tiles around the pool area.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment and materials (up to 50 lbs).
- Physical stamina to perform manual labor for extended periods.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions, including heat, cold, and rain.
- Capability to stand, kneel, bend, and climb for extended periods.
- Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification or training in construction management is a plus.
- Proven experience as a construction worker, in a supervisory role, preferably in pool and spa construction.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations specific to pools and spas.
- Previous experience with tile work, brick laying, and concrete work preferred.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction documents.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
