Join Our Team as a Building Materials Trader Assistant - Construction and Building Materials Estimator - Sales Quotes Specialist
We are seeking experienced professionals in building materials trading to join our team. This role requires expertise in sourcing, purchasing, and selling construction materials such as steel, cement, mills, and timber. Key Responsibilities:
- Market Analysis: Continuously monitor and analyze market trends, including supply and demand dynamics, price fluctuations, and economic indicators, to identify profitable trading opportunities.
- Sourcing Materials: Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers, such as sawmills and wholesalers, to procure lumber and other construction materials that meet quality standards and client specifications.
- Sales and Client Management: Develop and manage a portfolio of clients by understanding their needs, providing tailored solutions, and ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction to drive repeat business.
- Negotiation: Negotiate purchase and sales agreements with suppliers and clients to secure favorable terms, including pricing, delivery schedules, and payment conditions.
- Risk Management: Assess and mitigate risks associated with market volatility, supply chain disruptions, and credit exposure to protect the company's financial interests.
- Logistics Coordination: Oversee the transportation and delivery of materials, ensuring timely and cost-effective logistics while complying with all relevant regulations and standards.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all trading activities adhere to industry regulations and sustainability practices, maintaining the company's reputation and legal standing.
- Continuous Learning: Stay informed about industry developments, new products, and emerging markets to maintain a competitive edge and identify new business opportunities.
Preferred Experience:
- A minimum of six months' experience in trading wood products, steel products, or mill-related commodities.
- Experience with any of the following companies is a big plus:
o Forest City Trading Group LLC
o American International Forest Products
o Buckeye International
Compensation & Benefits:
- Commission Structure: Earn 45% commission on profits from successful trades.

Earnings Example: As a 100% commission-based role, your earnings reflect your success. For example, if you facilitate a trade with a $1,000 profit, you receive $450.
Work Schedule:
- Standard hours: Monday to Friday, 6:30 AM – 4:30 PM
