Fleet Mechanic - Diesel Truck Service Technician
A well-established commercial truck repair operation in Tigard is seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join their growing team. This location supports a broad customer base who bring in a variety of vehicles—from sprinter vans to box trucks and semi-trucks—for service and repair. The work is dynamic, hands-on, and offers exposure to a wide range of diesel systems and equipment.

Job Responsibilities:

Perform diagnostics, repairs, and testing on diesel trucks across multiple makes and models

Conduct preventative maintenance and advanced mechanical repairs

Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems, hydraulics, and air brake systems

Complete major mechanical work such as engine rebuilds, head gasket replacements, and transmission replacements

Utilize OEM online engine platforms and SBT systems for diagnostics and reporting
-
Maintain accurate records of work performed and follow established safety procedures
-
Work independently in a large-scale outdoor lot servicing customer vehicles and fleet rentals
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

Experience performing advanced mechanical repairs beyond basic maintenance (oil changes, spark plugs, etc.)

Strong working knowledge of:

Preventative maintenance practices

Heavy-duty electrical systems

Brake (air and hydraulic) systems

Tire and wheel service
-
SBT Basics, Core, and Advanced modules

OEM engine diagnostic platforms

Proficient in troubleshooting electrical and mechanical systems

Must have own set of tools

Prior diesel mechanic experience required; recent graduates from diesel technology programs will also be considered
