Job Full Description
A client of ours in Sherwood is looking for a Material Handler to add to their day shift. You will be maintaining production and distribution of products by pulling order and inventory. This is a great long term opportunity!
This is an evaluation to a full-time hire role.
Duties:
- Read work order or follow oral instructions to ascertain materials or containers to be moved
- Load/unload materials using fork truck, cranes or by hand, from pallets, trays, etc.
- Secure lifting attachments to materials and conveys load to destination
- Work closely with purchasing, inspectors and vendors to ensure all material is received as ordered on P.O.
- This includes meeting thickness and flatness tolerances along with width/diameter and length dimensions plus type and grade of material
- Recommends ways to improve productivity and safety
- Inform proper individuals of shortages on pick list, in order to meet timely completion of rush and breakdown orders
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities (KSAs):
- HS Diploma/GED
- Experience using Fed-EX and UPS for shipping and receiving
- Ability to operate forklift and/ or pallet jack
- Comfortable with numbers and basic math
- Experience in material handling and/or logistics
- Lift up to 50 lbs.
Pay: $ $22/hr.
Schedule: Monday – Friday 6am to 2:30pm
