Job Full Description
We’re looking for a CNC Machinist to join a client of ours in Sherwood. This position entails operating a range of machines, including conventional, special purpose, and numerical control machines, as well as any other machines necessary for the job. It provides an excellent long-term opportunity to further develop skills in this field.
This is an evaluation to full-time hire position.
Responsibilities:
- Interpret blueprints, sketches, and specifications to determine machining requirements.
- Mark and measure dimensions on workpieces for machining guidance.
- Select and align cutting tools, materials, and attachments on machines.
- Set controls to regulate machining factors or input commands into computerized systems.
- Verify finished workpiece conformity to specifications.
- Collaborate with engineers, production personnel, and programmers to address issues.
- Operate various machines (lathes, mills, hobs, drills) and secure parts for machining.
- Ensure accurate execution of part programs and adherence to Lean Manufacturing principles.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities (KSAs):
- 2-3 years of mechanic/assembly work experience
- Proficiency in operating fabricating machines (shears, brakes, presses, rolls, routers)
- Ability to shape metal using anvils or blocks.
- Must have own tools and rigging skills.
- Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs.
- 3+ years of hands-on CNC experience or equivalent training, setting up 3 Axis CNC Mills or Lathes.
- Experience in fixturing, tooling setup, and machine offsets.
- Strong attention to detail and patience.
- Preferred: Knowledge of G-code programming or experience with Mastercam for minor editing.
Pay: $24 - $29+/hr. DOE
Schedule: Monday-Friday 6AM - 2:30PM
