Maintenance Mechanic (1) 6am-6pm & (1) 6pm-6am
Description
General Purpose:
Work independently and with team to perform preventative, predictive, and routine maintenance tasks to include troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining production and facilities electrical equipment. All tasks will be performed safely while supporting company policies, goals, and objectives. Be the “first line of defense” to equipment fixes.
Essential Functions:
Setup, install, adjust, and maintain production equipment including conveyors, pneumatics, hydraulics, pumps, encoders, etc.
Equipment Maintenance - Perform routine, predictive, and preventative maintenance on equipment.
Inspect regularly and as needed to ensure proper operation.
Complex Problem Solving - Identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options. Implement effective solutions.
Operation Monitoring - Watch gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly with maximum efficiency and effectiveness.
Operation and Control – solid understanding of machine operation and functions.
Tig, mig, and stick welding, fabrication, etc.
Participate in plant safety, health, and environmental programs.
Other duties as needed or assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skill, Ability:
Minimum 3 years mechanical experience on production machinery.
Design – effective knowledge of design techniques, tools and principals involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
Mechanical – effective knowledge of machines, drives, and tools.
Computers – effective knowledge of computer hardware and software, including Microsoft Suite.
Electronics – effective knowledge of electronic equipment and systems.
Judgment and Decision Making – consideration of the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one.
Able to work in time sensitive and sometimes stressful situations.
Able to work independently, prioritize tasks and research to find answers in some cases with little guidance. Able to follow directions, procedures, and guidelines as directed by supervisor.
Must have a high level of attention to detail.
Must be organized, thorough, reliable, and dependable.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to work up to 12 hour per day; available to work overtime, weekends, and changing shifts, as needed.
Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, climb stairs, crouch, lean, reach, twist, and other physical movements required for this type of work for extended periods of time.
Ability to wear prescribed personal protective equipment.
Ability to lift at least 50 pounds.
Must have finger dexterity, visual acuity, discernment of sounds, color, and texture.
Must be reliable and have the physical and mental ability to operate a forklift, scissor lift, and crane. Employer will certify.
Working Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts, electricity, chemicals, dusty conditions, high noise levels, and extreme temperatures. The facility is an industrial manufacturing plant.
