GENERAL SUMMARY

Provides hands on support for the operation, repair, and maintenance of facility equipment, systems including electronic and electrical controls.  Is a key resource for equipment and system troubleshooting, equipment installation debug and commissioning. This position will manage and coordinate outside contractors and inspection. Responsible for identifying and implementing key initiatives to reduce energy in all Lehigh Valley facilities thru continuous improvement of systems, equipment and technology.

 

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Lead Mechanical/Electrical/Controls installation, troubleshooting, repair and maintenance of facility support systems including water and waste water treatment. 
  • Responsible for being the facilities technical resource at all Lehigh Valley facilities. Areas of responsibility include but not limited to pretreatment system operation and maintenance, preventative maintenance and operation of all HVAC, chillers, boilers and air compressor systems including instrumentation calibration and maintenance. 
  • Site project coordination, develop, lead and successfully complete capital projects under $50K with minimum supervision.
  • Assist in matters of compliance and enforcement of safety and environmental policies and regulations.
  • Perform facility grounds and maintenance, interior / exterior lighting and office relocations as needed to support needs of all Lehigh Valley facilities.
  • Lead FM inspection, testing and maintenance on fire protection and ammonia detection systems.
  • Perform work in compliance with federal and state Hazardous Waste regulations including proper handling, storing, labeling, and familiarity with Crayola’s Emergency Action Procedure in the event of a spill or leak.
  • Identify and implement key initiatives to reduce energy in all Lehigh Valley facilities thru continuous improvement of systems, equipment and technology.

  • Evaluate new and existing facilities related equipment and electrical systems relative to functional design application, efficiency and safety decisions.
  • Responds to facility related emergencies and recommend and implement a solution.
  • Decide general task priorities unless extremely important related problems, policies or procedures require higher level of resolution.

 

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

  • Associates degree or technical school graduate with 3 years skilled maintenance related experience OR 5 years skilled maintenance experience without degree or certification.   Facility maintenance preferred.
  • Demonstrated capability in all the following systems operations:  boiler, chiller, compressed air, emergency generator and fire protection.
  • Demonstrated capability in at least five of the following skills: welder, pipe fitter, plumber, metal fabrication, PLC editing/ troubleshooting, industrial electricity. 
  • Experience in HVAC and refrigeration systems strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (MP2).
  • Knowledge of Level Probes, temperature controllers, flow controllers, metering devices and minor PLC support. 
  • PLC debugging experience in analog communication to industrial devices using various controls software preferred.
  • PC knowledge: Word, Excel, AutoCAD, CMMS( MP-2)
  • Waste water treatment certification preferred.
  • Working knowledge of ACS and Johnson Controls software and trouble shooting
  • Ability to interpret process and instrumentation diagrams, control schematics, mechanical/piping and electrical drawings.
  • Ability to read and interpret control schematics and mechanical drawings. 
  • EPA CFC Certification preferred.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
