The Utility Operator is responsible for packing finished products onto skids, conducting quality checks, banding, installing side boards, stretch wrapping, and moving the finished product to the designated shipping area. Key responsibilities include repetitively lifting 5 to 50 pounds, standing for up to 9 hours per day, and using a tape measure and calipers. The role also requires bending at the waist, operating a forklift (training provided), banding products on skids, and using pneumatic guns for nailing and stapling. The operator will fill out necessary paperwork, notify the glue operator of product defects, occasionally tie bales when the baler is full, and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) while adhering to safety regulations and procedures. Additional duties may be assigned, and the ability to work overtime is required as needed.
Position qualifications include a high school diploma or GED (preferred), with prior manufacturing or production experience being a plus. Successful candidates must demonstrate competencies in safety and security, being results-oriented, integrity, problem-solving, time management, teamwork, and effective listening.
