Job Full Description

The Litigation Assistant will work as part of a cohesive administrative team to support Partner and Associate Attorneys in our litigation practice. This is a full-time, hybrid position working 40-hours per week and eligible for benefits. The work schedule runs from Monday to Friday with a flexible start time between 8:30am to 9:30am.

 

Responsibilities

Prepare, organize, index, develop, and manage relevant data including electronic court filings, and evidence.
• Assist with and organize voluminous discovery projects.
• Maintain complex calendars.
• Handle and draft professional correspondence.
• Review preliminary invoices.
• Coordinate travel arrangements.
• Answer phones and act as contact to internal and external customers.
• Intake new cases.
• Collaborate and support the team to provide responsive customer service.
• Perform other administrative tasks as assigned.


Skills & Qualifications


• Litigation experience, required.
• Associate Degree or equivalent training/work experience, required.
• 1+ years of legal administrative litigation support experience within a legal department or law firm or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience with professional services billing systems.
• ProLaw experience, a plus.
• Experience with document management systems and best practices, strongly desired.
• Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining a positive attitude in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with eDiscovery, a plus.
• Strong typing skills.
• Effective time management and high level of attention to detail skills to balance the workload of Partner and Associate attorneys and efficiently prioritize requests.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; can collaborate with all levels of staff both orally and in writing.
• Good analytical skills.
• Ability to resolve issues quickly and efficiently.
• Ability to represent a positive and professional image.
• Demonstrated proficiency in computer software applications, including MS Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint); Outlook for calendaring meetings, events, etc. Ability to learn and use other applications may be necessary, such as ProLaw.
• Proven ability to schedule meetings and conference calls with multiple parties and arrange travel.
• Advanced level of knowledge of legal terminology.
