Express is recruiting for an experienced Legal Assistant in the Waynesburg, PA area! MAC experience paired with a working knowledge of legal procedures will make you the perfect candidate for this role!
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive administrative and legal support to attorneys, including managing calendars, scheduling meetings, and coordinating case-related deadlines.
- Review and archive incoming mail to calendar all applicable legal deadlines with a keen focus on accuracy of the entries.
- Manage communication with clients, court officials, and other external parties, maintaining professionalism and confidentiality.
- Manage the phone intake to obtain as much information as possible to coordinate assistance with the attorneys.
- Utilize MAC OSX and its suite of applications (e.g., Pages, Numbers, Keynote) to create, format, and manage legal documents and presentations with precision and efficiency.
- Oversee electronic filing systems on MAC, ensuring that all case documents are accurately categorized, easily accessible, and securely stored.
- Stay abreast of the latest MAC OSX updates and legal technology trends, recommending software and tools to enhance efficiency.
- Troubleshoot minor technical issues on MAC systems and provide basic IT support to the legal team, liaising with IT professionals for more complex problems.
- Conduct legal research using online databases and tools, synthesizing information to support case preparation and legal proceedings.
- Assist in preparing for trials, hearings, and meetings by organizing materials, evidence, and documentation.
Qualifications/Character:
- Proven experience as a legal assistant or paralegal, preferably in a MAC OSX environment.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously with high attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to handle sensitive information discreetly.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Enjoy engaging with people to provide a high standard of service.
- Strong familiarity with MAC OSX and proficiency in using its applications for professional purposes.
- A commitment to continuous learning and development, especially in areas related to legal technology and MAC OSX.
- A degree or certification in legal studies, paralegal studies, or a related field is preferred.

Schedule and Pay:

- Pay is $50,000 to $56,000 depending on experience
