Job Full Description
The Maintenance Lead is responsible for overseeing and coordinating maintenance activities to ensure efficient, safe, and reliable operations of machinery, equipment, and facilities. This role combines hands-on technical expertise with team leadership to minimize downtime, improve productivity, and support continuous improvement in line with organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities:

Team Leadership & Coordination
- Lead, train, and manage a team of maintenance technicians, ensuring effective and efficient performance.
- Schedule and prioritize maintenance activities, ensuring minimal disruption to production.
- Act as the point of contact for maintenance-related issues, working closely with other departments.

Preventive & Predictive Maintenance
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for all machinery, equipment, and facilities.
- Monitor equipment conditions and establish predictive maintenance programs to minimize unexpected failures.
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

Troubleshooting & Repair
- Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment issues, coordinating immediate repair activities as needed.
- Oversee complex repairs and provide technical guidance to team members for resolving mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.

Continuous Improvement & Efficiency
- Identify areas for process improvement, focusing on energy efficiency, cost reduction, and system reliability.
- Implement corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives to increase machine uptime and efficiency.
- Evaluate new equipment and technologies to enhance maintenance practices and facility operations.

Safety & Compliance
- Ensure all maintenance activities follow safety protocols and comply with relevant regulations and standards.
- Conduct regular inspections to identify and rectify unsafe conditions or practices.
- Provide training on equipment operation, safety standards, and emergency procedures for the maintenance team.

Inventory & Budget Management
- Manage and maintain inventory of spare parts, tools, and equipment to ensure timely repairs.
- Develop and manage the maintenance budget, controlling costs and optimizing resources effectively.
Qualifications:
- Education: Associate’s degree or technical certification in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance (Bachelor’s degree preferred).
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years in maintenance with at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead role.
- Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems, with proficiency in diagnostic tools and maintenance management software (e.g., CMMS).
- Soft Skills: Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, work at heights, and perform physical tasks as required by the role.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma).
- Certifications such as CMRP (Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional) or similar.
