Job Full Description
A bookkeeper is responsible for managing and recording financial transactions for an organization. They ensure that all financial data is accurate, up-to-date, and compliant with relevant laws and regulations. The key responsibilities and duties of a bookkeeper may include:
Key Responsibilities:
- Recording Transactions: Accurately record daily financial transactions, including sales, purchases, receipts, and payments.
- Reconciliation: Reconcile bank statements, credit card statements, and other financial accounts to ensure consistency between financial records and statements.
- Managing Accounts Payable and Receivable: Process and track invoices, bills, and payments to vendors or clients. Ensure timely payments and collections.
- Payroll Processing: Calculate and process employee payroll, including tax deductions, benefits, and bonuses.
- General Ledger Maintenance: Maintain the general ledger and ensure all accounts are correctly classified and categorized.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare financial statements, reports, and summaries, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Tax Compliance: Assist with preparing tax filings, including sales tax, income tax, and payroll tax, in coordination with accountants or tax professionals.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate financial records for audits and compliance purposes, ensuring that all records are filed and stored appropriately.
- Budgets and Forecasting: Assist in preparing budgets and forecasts to support business decisions and strategic planning.
- Software Management: Use accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, or Sage) to input financial data and generate reports.

Education and Experience:
