Hours: 1st week orientation, M-F 8am-4pm

SHIFT A, 7a-7p  3 days on/4 days off; 4 days on/ 3 days off

Job Summary:

Drives liquefied gas-powered industrial truck equipped with lifting devices such as forklift, to push, pull, lift, stack, tier, or move products, equipment, or materials.

Duties/Responsibilities:

· Moves levers and presses pedals to drive truck and control movement of lifting apparatus.

· Positions forks, lifting platform, or other lifting device under, over, or around loaded pallets, skids, boxes, extrusions, or logs and transports load to designated area.

· Unloads and stacks material by raising and lowering lifting device.

· Loads and unloads trucks as required.

· Empties trash containers as needed.

· Places empty baskets on wheels for saw crews.

· Empties scrap hoppers, separating alloy 6061 from 6063 as directed.

· Loads and unloads heat treat ovens and moves metal to next department or area.

· Follows proper procedures, starts Age Ovens selecting proper cycles. Completes documentation and charts as required.

· Monitors Age Cycles periodically to ensure proper operation.

· Ensures forklift is maintained in a safe working order. Reports defects or problems to shift supervisor. Completes preventive maintenance and corresponding paperwork as directed.

· Replaces propane bottle refueling forklift as required. Places empty bottle in proper storage area.

· Assists with maintaining a neat and orderly plant, insuring aisleways are kept clear. Performs general housekeeping duties as directed.

· Performs other duties as assigned. 

Education and Experience:

· High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and/or one or more years' experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Required Skills/Abilities:

· Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

· Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.

· Ability to perform these operations using units of American weight measurement, volume, and distance.

· Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.

· Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

· Ability to operate tow motor, function independently or in a team environment and possess good verbal and written communication skills.

· Must attend and pass the Forklift Operators Safety course. You must have a valid Forklift License.
